Facial veins are dilated blood vessels usually found on the forehead, nose, cheeks, eyelids, neck, and upper chest. They can be extremely tiny or very large and can be caused by a variety of factors. We will first closely examine the veins and determine what is causing them, and then determine the most appropriate, effective treatment options.
Angiomas are benign tumors derived from cells of the vascular or lymphatic vessel walls (endothelium) or derived from cells of the tissues surrounding these vessels.
We use a method known as electrocautery to treat veins and angiomas. Electrocautery, also known as thermal cautery, refers to a process in which a direct or alternating current is passed through a resistant metal wire electrode, generating heat. The heated electrode is then applied to living tissue to achieve hemostasis or varying degrees of tissue destruction.
